Patrician College Hosts Student Council and Office Bearers Installation Ceremony 2025–2026
Patrician College of Arts and Science celebrated a proud moment in its 25th year with the Installation Ceremony of the Students’ Council for the academic year 2025–2026 on Tuesday, 15th July 2025 in the College Auditorium. The event began on a solemn note with a prayer song by Shamrocks, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by distinguished guests, officials, and members of the Student Council.
Dr. B. Anandapriya, Vice-Principal (Shift I), delivered the welcome address, setting the tone for the event. Mr. Dharmender A, Assistant Professor, Department of English and Coordinator of Student Affairs, introduced the Chief Guest, Dr. Saranya T Jaikumar, an Educational Psychologist and Child Rights Expert based in Chennai.
Dr. Saranya T Jaikumar formally installed the new office bearers of the Student Council, acknowledging their readiness to take on leadership roles. Principal Dr. Arokiamary Geetha Rufus administered the oath, affirming the commitment of the student leaders to serve their peers with integrity and responsibility. The newly elected Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of the Student Council then presented their proposal for the year ahead.
Felicitation speeches were offered by Dr. Fatima Vasanth, Academic Director, and Dr. B. Meena, Vice Principal (Shift II), who praised the student representatives and encouraged them to embrace the opportunities that leadership brings. Words of encouragement were also shared by Bro. Ramesh Amalanathan, Director and Secretary, who reminded the students of their potential to shape campus life meaningfully.
In her address, Chief Guest Dr. Saranya T Jaikumar spoke about the meaningful role of a badge holder, reminding the newly elected leaders that their one-year term is an opportunity to explore their full potential and capacity. She emphasized that true leadership begins with personal transformation and urged the council members to focus on being good individuals and to practice self-discipline as the foundation for effective leadership.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the Secretary and Joint Secretary of the Student Council, followed by the College Anthem and National Anthem performed by the College Choir, Shamrocks
